Rigid Heddle Pattern #11: Caribbean Picnic

This pattern is for napkins and a sewn utensil roll that utilizes stripes that are woven into the fabric to give clean lines for cutting and sewing. It is an exploration of how structure, color, spacing, and high contrast between warp and weft can create fabulous gradients that can be pushed to iridescence.

Napkins are woven woven in a plain weave, doubling warp threads in a 12 dent heddle, and using a single thread for weft.

Pattern is written for 2 napkins, a cutlery roll, and 20” of sampling, but includes enough yarn and instructions to make up to 4 napkins and a cutlery rolls. Four tubes of yarn will give you enough to make up to eight napkins and two cutlery rolls.
